Happy Monday!
I have my next eye surgery scheduled. (You can read more about eye disease Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3). Surgery for my left eye will be November 19th. Yep! One week before Thanksgiving. I am actually excited because this will hopefully be my last surgery for this year. The end of this chapter is complete and time to move forward.
It’s now time to focus on the rest of my body. I have been seriously neglecting my fitness and food tracking. Basically, putting the focus on my eyesight has taken my focus off of what I put in my mouth. I am excited to set some goals and work towards being wholly healthy.
I have decided to set a few goals for myself this week and will post the results each week. Weight loss is not my only goal. I will concentrate on getting activity in each day and fruit and vegetable intake. My ultimate goal is to run a marathon. Its kinda been on my bucket list my whole life. The time has come to work toward the finish line. Here are my fitness / weight loss goals for this week:
- walk 2 miles three times this week. (We are going to Las Vegas for one night and my daughter is coming home from college this weekend. I am keeping things real!)
- attend my Weight Watchers meeting on Saturday morning. (Haven’t been in a while. Starting fresh!)
- eat 2 fruits and 3 vegetables each day
- limit my treats to one per day (baby steps)
This is a start. I’ll expand on my long-term goals next week. Let’s see how I do! Anyone want to join me?
