Happy Friday! Hoping for some “Fall” like weather this weekend! The temperatures have been in the high 90s this week. Maybe a little bit of a breeze? 🙂 Here’s what I am loving this week!
My husband and daughter are fascinated by this show. Part travel and part history with a little humor and reality TV thrown in and it’s quite entertaining. Basically this guy travels to destinations to discover myths or legends. He’s an archaeologist whose been to over 100 countries. On the Travel Channel.
We just discovered Blue Apron food delivery service. For a fee, a box is delivered to your door in insulated wrapping in ice packs. You can choose your delivery date from Monday through Friday. You will receive ingredients for two dinners for two or four people. It seemed a little more pricey at $69.92 for two meals for four people, but my husband insisted we try it. He thought t would be fun. Who am I to complain if the man wants to cook dinner? Food. Was. Delicious! Wayne jumped in and did the chopping and prep. Hannah read all the steps to him. The food was fresh, individually packaged with clear instructions. We tried foods we wouldn’t normally try. I wouldn’t order all the time, but once a month would be okay as long as Wayne’s cooking!
Hannah first introduced me to Pieology. Think of it as pizza fixed like at sandwiches at Subway. You stand in line and pick your crust from either regular yeast dough or whole wheat. Next is butter, herb butter or olive oil. You can choose to put tomato sauce or leave with just oil. Pick your cheeses and toppings and they bake it up for you in an awesome pizza oven. They serve salads and drinks. Its around $8 and there are usually leftovers to take home. One GREAT reason I love Pieology is if uniformed safety personnel come in to eat on their break, Pieology gives them a 50% discount. THAT makes me happy!
Money Saving Mom
I have been following this money saving blog for a number of years. For the past year or so, she has branched into more thought provoking posts and encouragement for women / moms. She has great money saving tips, motivational ideas and keeps it real with her real life. She’s a keeper!
Amazon Dash Buttons
Have you ever saw an invention and kick yourself for not thinking of it yourself? That’s what I thought when I saw the Dash Buttons. Basically, you open an Amazon account and purchase these buttons for items you regularly use. There are over 400 buttons and each cost $4.99. On your first purchase of that product attached to that button you’ll receive a $4.99 coupon off your purchase, Most products are household products like laundry detergent, trash bags, drinks, etc. Place the button where you regularly store the product and when you run low, push the Dash Button.Amazon will confirm via email or text that you need a refill and they send it to you with free shipping. I always hate to buy the huge packs of toilet paper or paper towels when I am shopping alone because they are so bulky. This saves time and money when you use a coupon for your favorite products.
I hope you have a great weekend! Here’s what’s coming up next week on One Step Woman….
and in October….
